Multiplayer games

Play against other people: sit down at an open table, or open your own and invite your friends.

Every game here has online tables as well as a game you can play on your own. The card and domino games are played around a table, Checkers, Chess, Reversi, Tic-tac-toe and Backgammon are played by two, Ludo and Bingo are races to finish first, Flags is a quiz against the clock and Tanks is played in teams.

You need an account to play online. Every game below can still be played without one.

How online tables work

  1. Choose a game above and press its Play online button.
  2. Sit down at an open table from the list, or open one of your own and choose how many players it seats.
  3. Every table has a code and a link. Send either to your friends and they can sit down with you, even at a table the list does not show.

About these games

To play online, sign in, open a table and choose its rules, then send its code to friends or list it in the lobby for anyone to join. Hearts, Spades and Belote seat four, Dominoes and Ludo two to four, and Gin Rummy, Checkers, Chess, Reversi, Tic-tac-toe and Backgammon exactly two. Bingo, Flags and Tanks tables take two to eight players. Except at Bingo, the host can let bots take the seats still empty once a second player has sat down.

The card tables suit a longer sitting, since a game of Spades to 500 or Gin Rummy to 100 runs over several hands. Flags and Tanks are quicker: a Flags race lasts sixty seconds, and a Tanks match goes to the first team to win three rounds, each round two minutes at most. A Chess table is played on a clock, from 3 minutes a side to 30, with a few seconds added after each move.

If a player leaves a card, domino, Checkers or Reversi game, the computer plays their seat for the rest of the game, so the others can finish. Leaving a Backgammon match or a Tic-tac-toe series ends it, and the other player wins, and leaving a Chess table resigns the game. Every game here can also be played alone in your browser without an account, against computer players or the clock, before you try a table.
